Item description from seller

[NONE] [circa 1971], 1st edition. (Mass market paperback) Very good. 6pp. 8vo. Unbound bi-fold pamplet, printed in blue ink, with photos and a drawing og 2 joints laid out to form a cross. Lightly age toned, as may be anticipated, with a faint crease. Very good condition. John Sinclair was the founder of the White Panther Party (which later became the Rainbow People's Party) and was manager of the MC5. He was busted for possession of 2 joints and sentenced for 10 years in prison. In 1971, there was a free John Sinclair rally and concert with John Lennon, Stevie Wonder, Allen Ginsberg, as well as other luminaries. This pamphlet describes an outline of the Sinclair case and served to solicit donations. As you may know, he was freed in 1971, but remained in litigation against the American government until his case for illegal domestic surveillance was pleaded successfully in 1972. A very cool piece of history.

Store description

Established in 1970. We specialize in Prairie Canadiana (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta), Travel & Exploration, The North, and Aboriginal Peoples ("North American Indian"). Although these areas comprise the main sections in the store, they are by no means our only focus! We boast an impressive Literature section, a vast array of Art Books and Gallery Catalogues, a respectable offering of Science & Medicine titles, and drool-worthy cabinets of antiquarian tomes (of course). A member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of Canada (ABAC), the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB), and the National Archival Appraisal Board of Canada (NAAB). We do appraisals, for insurance purposes, institutional, or otherwise. Open by chance or appointment. Feel free to call or email!…
