Language: English. Approximately 110 pages. English: Print-on-demand reprint. Original edition : 1866. Text in English. This meticulously researched work offers a thorough examination of heraldic principles, making it an indispensable reference for historians, genealogists, and enthusiasts of medieval and early modern European culture. The book systematically explores the symbolic meanings behind heraldic devices, the rules governing their design, and their historical evolution. Whitmore's glossary of technical terms provides clear definitions of obscure heraldic vocabulary, making the text accessible to both scholars and general readers. The work remains a foundational text in the field, bridging the gap between academic heraldry and practical application in genealogical research and historical studies. Book images are non-contractual. This item is printed on demand and ships from our printing partners' facility nearest the destination. These facilities are located mainly in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada.…
