- Book 5 of 6: Bermejo and Roncero Crime Thriller
An unexpected discovery in a centuries-old monastery. A disturbing disappearance in the Ribera del Duero wine region. And an obscure organization controlling the area without anyone noticing its existence.
Aranda de Duero and its surrounding region hide secrets that should never be uncovered. During the restoration works of the imposing Monastery of Santa María de la Vid, a remarkably well-preserved mummy is found wall-up inside a long-forgotten crypt. This bizarre discovery raises more questions than answers, just as the sudden disappearance of a prominent local politician sparks alarm throughout the area.
Lieutenant Pablo Roncero from the UCO (Central Operational Unit) arrives with his new team, Corporal Andrade and Officer Oliveira, to spearhead the search for Marcos Berzosa, the frontrunner in the upcoming municipal elections. Together, they must navigate a labyrinth of hidden interests in an ancestral land where power and silence have learned to coexist, and where old grudges still dictate the fate of its inhabitants.
Meanwhile, investigative journalist Miriam Monfort lands in the region following a lead for a story that could trigger a massive scandal. There, she crosses paths with an unexpected partner in her investigation: Detective Bermejo. The veteran policeman, who is vacationing in Ribera del Duero and temporarily away from the Violent Crime Unit (UDEV), finds himself drawn in by circumstances. He decides to lend a hand, never imagining that the secrets they are about to uncover could change everything.
Amidst centennial vineyards, forgotten archives, and hidden passageways, the chilling presence of a shadow conspiracy looms large: The Guild has never stopped pulling the strings, and no one knows who to trust.
Dive into a gripping saga of suspense, intrigue, and action set in Spain that will put your instincts to the test.
Shocking crimes, unrelenting investigations, and lurking danger on every page. Do you dare to discover the truth?Caught between a past demanding justice and a present fraught with threats, the investigators will discover that some truths are more dangerous than they ever imagined.
The Echo of Blood might just become a cry that will never stop echoing through the province of Burgos, giving a voice to the legacy of the innocent.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
