Print on Demand. This book analyzes the policies and decisions of the Paris Commune of 1871, an iconic moment in revolutionary history. At the time, Paris was a hotbed of republicanism and radicalism. When the national government became increasingly conservative, the people of Paris organized their own elected governing body and seized control of the city. The author approaches this event chronologically, examining the factors that led to the Communes formation, its political goals, and its ultimate defeat. This book serves as a valuable resource for those interested in the history of revolution and social change, and prompts reflection on the ongoing struggle for workers' rights and the balance between order and freedom. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
