In the present, Tadashi Natori is a man lost in this century, yearning for the simplicity and honor of feudal Japan. With his brother's machien, the Timebender, he travels to the past, where he starts on his quest for Japan. But an encounter with bigotry and injustice forces him into an act of violence that forever changes the future. Tadashi is thrown into a deadly confrontation with the mad, repressive warlord of this bleak future. Stalked by the spectre of his own death, trapped in both the past and future, Tadashi dares a perilous journey of the spirit. He remains a man apart, caught in a timeless maelstrom of blood and evil.
