The Men of Match gives a voyeuristic peek to those who are newcomers to cyber dating, and those who are disillusioned by it. Author Nancy Beckons made her debut on Match.com starting in 2009 just following the economy's plunge and cyber dated for more than two years in search of a soul mate. She also sampled other dating sites before writing this memoir. She begins by introducing the Men of Match - in their own words ― telling readers what they are seeking in a soul mate. The stories spring to life with live dialogue of the "Match Men," and run the gamut of funny, sad, intriguing, heart-warming and heart wrenching. Ms. Beckons says, "With the economic downturn and the way men's egos are so intertwined with their jobs and the amount of money they make the behavior of many men were reflective of the times. I don't think some of my stories could ever be replicated!" It is the first book written exclusively about the Men of Match.com which touts itself as being the largest online dating site in the world, and a reported 25 percent of those who subscribe to it are said to over 50. Injecting satire and play-by-play descriptions of her encounters with "Match Men," Ms. Beckons attempts to find some inner truths behind the facade. Several of the author's highlighted romantic adventures include dates with a Tiki Bar owner at an exclusive country club, a Surgeon who falls hard for love, a Horse Trainer, a womanizing Player Match Man, and several others. She reveals to readers key facets of online dating that so many of us are in the dark about or too afraid to experience alone for the first time. For example, readers can ponder a chapter about what men think women want and what Ms. Beckons lays out to them what women really want. Regarding age, photos, job/profession, earnings, just how many online daters are telling the truth? Through lessons learned the author brings to light her own unique insights and discoveries at the ends of chapters. In coming to terms with these, Nancy Beckons believes we might all eventually understand what really makes for a genuine soul mate. Find out how the journey ends for Nancy Beckons. A surprise victory awaits readers after they are jolted by the events of one of her last Match Men.
