A collection of nine documents by Jonathan Williams, which includes:- A group of 4 folding brochures / book lists:(i) Books of Jonathan Williams, Checklist 1952-1979, compiled by Arthur Uphill to mark an exhibition of JW s Books and Photographs at Coracle Press, July July 1979. 215 x 102mm. Condition: Very good+.(ii) Jonathan Williams Blues & Roots, Rue & Bluets: A Garland for the Southern Appalachians, 1985. 215 x 93mm. Includes a description of the book and an order form addressed to Duke University Press. Condition: Very good+.(iii) The Books of Jonathan Williams, 1972, 223 x 95mm. Condition: Very good+.(iv) Joyfull News Out of the Newfounde World, Jargon Society, North Carolina, 1975. 223 x 96mm. Leaflet folded three times printed brown and black on cream. Condition: Very good+.- 1 folding exhibition brochure entitled Jonathan Williams and his Friends at Corn Close , Robert Bank Fine Art Gallery, Lancashire, 1987. 298 x 210mm. 4pp. Folding exhibition brochure printed brown on brown. Produced for the exhibition held between 26 August 12 September 1987. As well as a general introduction, other sections include: paintings by Donald Anderson; photographs by Raymond Moore and Mary Cooper; prints by John Furnival; Mahler Becomes Politics ; prints by Karl Torok; selections from Pairidaeza by Ian Gardner and Jonathan Williams; and collaboration with Alvin Doyle Moore, and six portrait photographs by Williams. Also featured a reproduction of a drawing of Tom Meyer reading a Colette text, made by David Hockney at Corn Close in July 1980. Brochure designed by Tom Meyer. Condition: Near Fine.- 1 photograph self-portrait of the artist, 148 x 104. This photograph was sent to Stuart Mills for the catalogue of the "Open Wide" exhibition of polaroids by Williams exhibited by Mills at his Artlocate Gallery in Derbyshire. The photographs shows Williams using his polaroid camera, and was used as a tipped in image in the catalogue for the exhibition of which few copies were made and there were a handful of spare photographs. Provenance: Stuart Mills Archive. Condition: Fine.- 1 booklet of Jargon Society book Listings, titled The Jargon Society 1951-75 . 16pp. 204 x 252mm. Printed black and white on glossy stock. Condition: Fine.- 2 photocopies sent by Jonathan Williams to a friend, including a Book Review from the New York Times, dated February 1983, and an undated flyer for A Photo Sale in the Jargon Garage , advertising photographs from Williams personal collection and their sale prices.
