A Regency edition, in original unsophisticated state, of an English translation, executed by John Hall, Minister of the English Presbyterian Church in Rotterdam, of Dutch minister of religion Johannes Florentius Martinet's (1729-1795) popular natural history primer, arranged, as with the majority of his output, in the form of a series of dialogues. Katechismus der natuur, was first issued at Amsterdam in four volumes between 1777 and 1779. Hall's, greatly abridged, translation was first published in 1790.
