A history of the Philadelphia Afro-American revolutionary political collective "The MOVE Organization", founded by John Africa in the late 1960s/early 197 0s. As the result of a shooting death of a police officer during the August 8, 1978 raid on the MOVE Organization headquarters, 9 leading members of the MOVE Organization were sentenced to 30 to 100 year prison terms. On May 13, 1985, the Philadelphia police launched a full- scale military assault on the MOVE Organization headquarters - including aerial bombardment - and killed eleven MOVE Organization members, five of them children.
