Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Unclipped jacket. Panels and spine have moderate edgewear with chips, tears and creases. Moderate loss to spine and edges. Visible wear marks to spine and panels.

Blue and gold patterned endpapers with gilt-decorated inner dentelles. A touch of light wear to the extremities. A very good copy of this handsomely produced company retrospective. A foreword by Chairman Alfred Whittle precedes an unaccredited text detailing the various national branches, Wallpaper and Design, Colour Making, Engineering, Overseas Manufacturing and Export, and Distribution, accompanied by over 300 photographs and lithographic illustrations, including some in colour. The Wallpaper Manufacturers Ltd. was established in 1899 as an amalgamation of the manufacturing interests of 31 undertakings, and soon controlled 98% of UK wallpaper production, employing most of the trade union members referred to in the National Union of Wallcoverings, Decorative and Allied Trades.
