Condition: good. World.(Old Maps, 19th Century Maps, World Maps, Mercator's Projection, Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, South America, Oceania). Issued c. 1850, London by James Wyld. Mid 19th century engraved map with original outline hand color, divided into panels and mounted on linen as issued. Retains original protective pebble cloth slip case with paper title label. Someone long ago has neatly noted by dotted line the tracks in 1850 of the ship "Joshua Bales" (?) around the world between 1848-50. Nice looking example, pleasing age patina, any minor age flaws easy to overlook or forgive. Sheet measures c. 16 3/4" H x 22 1/2" W. Engraved area measures c. 16" H x 21 3/4" W.
