Hardcover. Condition: Good. First edition. Red cloth with titles and decoration in black and gold, with recently renewed dark-red spines. 255 x 333 x 60mm, both volumes together. 716pp in total. B/w illustrations on every page; with index. Clearly the set has been exposed to damp or water at some stage, with significant fading, staining and a little mould on both covers, esp. Volume 2; however, the volumes have been expertly restored, with new spine-strips carefully inserted beneath cloth of boards, and new endpapers, also expertly provided; minor evidence of damp is seen internally, too, mainly in the form of light staining and pink colouration towards tops of pages in Volume 2; apart from this the two volumes are largely clean internally, and overall make an attractive and interesting set. NB: An extra shipping charge may be requested for heavier or more valuable items. All our 'Seller Images' show the actual item you will receive.
