First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Illustrated by Tibor Gergely (illustrator). First Edition; First Printing. No addirional printings are listed, so this is assumed to be the first edition, first printing. The Caldecott medal is not affixed to the front of the jacket, and the price of $3.00 is present. The book itself is very fresh, with no inscriptions or signs of use. There are a few creases at the front in the gray buckram that covers the boards. This looks like a publisher's defect. It is very mild, and there is a charming image of a stork in flight. One corner (rear botom) is lightly bumped. The jacket has significant chipping at both front and back, but the central images are present. A mylar Brodart cover protects it. I will add that the illustrations are absolutely spectacular. Fast shipping, careful packing. ; not paginated pages.
