Dust Jacket Condition: Slipcase-Fair/Split. 52 playing cards incl master-card, darkened to edges, slighty darkened to surfaces through normal use, condition very good. 'Rules of Lexicon' booklet in nice condition dated 1933 & 'New Games to be played with Lexicon Cards' booklet in nice condition dated 1935. The whole fits into a gilt box with slight wear to corners & front edges, then slides into a small blue book-shaped slipcase. Gilt titles to front & spine, slightly dulled to front and SPLIT across top front edges & across spine-top but about 7mm back from edge, slight wear & small rubs to edges. Slipcase needs sticking, the whole used but respectable.

Containing a set of fifty-two playing cards, comprising of fifty-one playing cards and a master card. Collated complete. Lexicon is a word game using a dedicated deck of cards for 2 to 4 players published as a shedding card game. With the original rules booklet. Produced by Waddingtons, a British manufacturer of card and board games, founded by John Waddington of Leeds, and the manager, actor and playwright Wilson Barrett. In the original red book-shaped slip case with a gilt cardboard sleeve. Externally, sound with light wear and rubbing to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine with the odd mark to the boards. Joints cracked to the top of the slip. Cards are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Good. book.
