Seller: Aladdin Books, Fullerton, CA, U.S.A.
First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 22 years of the magazine bound in 11 (eleven) clothbound volumes. (Blue-gray buckram) From 1961 to June 1982. (The first six issues of Volume 22 are included. All other volumes are complete including the trick annuals that were included in early volumes.) Eight of the eleven bound books were from the Egyptian Hall Museum (Nashville, TN) collection and have the museum curator's name on spines (David Price.) All volumes have some foxing (tan spots) to page edges and there is a slightly musty odor to the volumes which may diminish if stored in a dry environment. All issues are complete with no missing pages or cuts. Excellent library style heavy duty bindings. New Tops was a wonderful magazine which was a house organ for the Abbott Magic Company and interest in the magazine was largely driven by the strength of its regular columnists and their varied specialized topics which catered to both amateur and professional alike. Ed Marlo regularly contributed card material, Clarke Crandall had a humorous column for many years, Sid Lorraine was the reviewer and there were columns at various times which address young magicians, illusionists, carnival and fair performers, kid show performers, ventriloquists, and other specialty interests.
