Covers are very clean and intact except for slight rubbing, minuscule fading to spine, and some wear to corners and head and tail of spine. Corners show the exposed boards from the wear. A Very Good copy. A historical account of the infamous outlaw, Henry Plummer (1832-1864), and his gang. Plummer led a double life as a member of law enforcement, including sheriff and city marshal, as well as the leader of a criminal gang. Plummer's road agents wreaked havoc on the Alder Gulch and Virginia City region of Montana, committing numerous crimes including robbery and murder. A group of vigilantes, the Vigilance Committee of Alder Gulch, was organized in 1863 to combat Plummer's gang. The Vigilance Committee put an end to Plummer and his gang through vigilante justice.
