    Signed example of The First Edition of Stephen Hawking's The Universe In A Nutshell Signed by the Stephen Hawking with thumb-print, additionally inscribed and signed by Karen Sime (Hawking's Personal Assistant) "Forward to the brave new world!" and with ink stamp "Right thumb-print of S W Hawking witnessed by Karen Sime" above her signature and date "7.12.01". Genuinely scarce signed, in The Universe In A Nutshell, Hawking explains to a general audience various matters relating to the Lucasian professor's work, such as Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem and P-branes (part of superstring theory in quantum mechanics). He tells the history and principles of modern physics. He seeks to "combine Einstein's General Theory of Relativity and Richard Feynman's idea of multiple histories into one complete unified theory that will describe everything that happens in the universe." It was the winner of the Aventis Prizes for Science Books 2002. First edition, first impression, illustrations, original boards, dust-jacket, 4to, very small closed tear to the spine of the jacket but almost impresciptible.
