The paper is bright, the font is well-defined and the text is legible at all points.The edges of the text block remain in good condition. The top edge is tinted red. This edge has picked up a few marks from this book having sat shelved for a length of time (please see photograph). What you will also be able to see is the creasing of the page tips of a small number of pages in the preface. The remaining edges are remarkably clean and the pages continue to sit together very well indeed.Externally, this book has grey covers with straight edges and square corners. At no point are the boards exposed. There is some very slight discolouration/bleaching along the top edge of both covers and down the spine. We shall endeavour to captur.

First edition, 8vo., pp.xvi,285, grey hardcover with title-band in red and lettering in gilt, top edges coloured; foxing to edges, toning to endpapers, a very good copy, in a very good complete and unclipped dust-jacket, with light water-marking to spine, and foxing and toning to margins.

Very slight creasing to top of dust jacket front cover. Very slight creasing to top of pages 193 and 194 due to binding error. An overall desirable and well maintained copy of Lewis' collection of posthumous essays.

First Edition, First Printing. Very good plus condition in good unclipped dust jacket. The book shows only light signs of wear and is free from any internal markings or inscriptions. The dust jacket is rather tatty, with a number of creases, nicks and small losses (see photo). Book.
