Unbound. Condition: Near Fine. One quarto leaf. Two faint folds from mailing, else fine. On Walter Gropius' printed Harvard University School of Design letterhead to Doubleday, Doran Book Shop in St. Louis, Missouri. The one-paragraph Typed Note Signed by Gropius contains in eight lines and begins: "Gentleman, In reply to your letter. I am sending. several reprints [not present] from the Architectural Forum article, 'A Program for City Reconstruction,' as a substitute for the pamphlet 'Housing as a Town-Building Problem' which is not for general distribution. Very truly yours, Walter Gropius." Gropius, noted architect was the founder of the Bauhaus School, and one of the masters of modern architecture. He moved to the United States in 1937 and taught at Harvard School of Design.
