unbound. Offering of two vintage signed items from the 1960's including: an original Tony Roberts 10" X 8" black & white glossy photograph, an iconic image taken at the Monterey Pop Festival in June, 1967, depicting Ravi Shankar. Photographer Tony Roberts has signed the back, adding his credit line with the addition of his Beverly Hills, California address & phone number. It should be noted that this appearance by Shankar at Monterey was his first introduction to an American audience. Also: A rare signed mimeographed one page program distributed by New York University in celebration of "India Month", April 14th 1969, 8-1/2" X 11", The Loeb Student Center. The program was completely cultural in nature with guest speakers that included Dr. Newab Ali Yavar Jung, the Indian Ambassador to the United States and closing with a two hour musical presentation by Ravi Shankar, who has boldly signed with a large clear signature at the top. Both items are in fine condition. Bengali-Indian musician and composer of Hindustani classical music. He was one of the best-known proponents of the Sitar in the second half of the 20th century.
