Shaffer signed as The Author dated December 1927, foxing, previous owner's signature, good first edition hardcover bound in green cloth boards and gilt. Consists mainly of articles which had appeared in the 'Pillar…to post' column of the Chicago Evening Post. Rivers was a Chicago Evening Post columnist and cartoonist and these pieces are from his column: "Pillar to Post". Shaffer was the publisher of the Chicago Evening Post and founded the Chicago Motor Transportation Company. Friend of Teddy Roosevelt.
