", collection comprises: folded leaflet "Le Mata-Feu (Brevete S.G.D.G) Appareil extincteur d'un emploi simple et facile. E.H. Middagh & Co. Brussels", black ink on blue paper, with a stamp from Exposition Internationale 1897; folded leaflet "Societe Anonyme de L'Extincteur Instantane D'Incendie L'Incomparable le seul sans Mecanisme a L'Interieur, Brussels", this is undated but contains testimonials dated 1897; Two single sheets detailing "Sauveteur a SpiraleAppareil de Sauvetage et de Descente en Cas D'Incendie", this metal pulley fixed to ropes appears to allow people to descend safely from a burning building, the sheets are adverts, instructions of use and testimonials. The handwritten letter dated August 1876 is from A. Dausse, Officier de la Legion D'Honneur, and manufacturer of the product, to the Mayor of a town on the Rhone, which describes the escape mechanism and tries to sell it. Letter and leaflets are in French" First Editions , pencil annotations to rear of one leaflet, ink ammendment to the address on the fire escape advert and a small tear to the fore edge, corner cut from Sauveteur Spirale instruction sheet and tear to fore edge, letter folded across the centre, good condition , printed paper , 21 x 13.5 cm to 27 x 22 cm Paperback ISBN:
