Condition: Good. 1947. First Edition. 174 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth boards with lettering. Black and white illustrated frontispiece. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Book has a slight forward lean.

Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. Dedication to front free endpaper. Boards have noticeable shelf wear with rubbing and corner bumping. Moderate tanning and marking.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First edition. 174pp, black and white frontispiece. Orange cloth-covered boards; black titles on spine. 12mo. Sun-faded spine, lightly bumped spine ends. Ring stain and light soiling front; cocked. Top text block edge dusty, all edges starting to tan and fox. Endpapers and prelim pages starting to fox and tan. Gift inscription on backside of front free endpaper. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A novel of two rival gangs in gangster land.
