Fowler utilizza una fotocamera a mezzo fotogramma il cui formato obsoleto impone la stampa di due immagini in un fotogramma standard da 35 mm. Le immagini accoppiate rivelano lo svolgersi di un evento. Fowler ha sperimentato diversi stock di film, soggetti e inquadrature, e le immagini sono indissolubilmente legate al suo cinema, come evidenziato dagli elementi di montaggio, colore e riflessività che permeano la serie. Sia nell'immagine fissa che in quella in movimento, Fowler considera come un evento possa essere astratto dall'apparato fotografico in un ordinamento soggettivo della realtà che è enfatizzato dalla dialettica tra immagini accoppiate. Le fotografie sono un mezzo per testare personalmente la capacità della macchina fotografica di testimoniare autenticamente un evento e la sua fallibilità come mezzo di rappresentazione. Luke Fowler è un artista e regista scozzese, che crea collage cinematografici che fanno riferimento al movimento Free Cinema britannico degli anni '50 e film documentari.
