An American in the McCarthy circles can continue to be American and be un-American, but this is because the word `un-…American' is not then being used to signify simply not being an American, but not being a loyal American or something of the kind. We should have to recognize all these possibilities and admit that not all statements which have apparently the same logical form as some which we should hold to be logically true are in fact loically true, and indeed that the very same statement may be logically true in some contexts and not so in others. But this admission in no way compels us to deny the existence of logically true statements, though it does put us on our guard lest we accept as logically true what only appears to be logically true."
