The text on the recto lists major buildings and tourist attractions, with short descriptions of many of them. The map is turned about 45 degrees counterclockwise from true North-south, showing the boundary lines of the district with a small sliver of Arlington, Virginia at the bottom. The Lincoln Memorial is referred to as "One of the newest and certainly one of the most magnificent of the memorial structures of the city.".
