Possible FIRST EDITION. Hilarious account of the various insects and pests which form part of everyday life in the surroundings of a Mofussil bungalow in colonial India. Interlaced with humorous Bewick type illustrations, many full page. Original green cloth covered bevel edged boards with gilt and black pictorial and gilt lettering on upper cover and spine. Binding worn at extremities and slightly dusty, endpapers repaired with tape. Owners name. Overall a good tight early copy of a gem of a book. 8vo. 216pp + 32pp publishers ads.

Delicious book about the birds and bees, but especially the bugs around the house of a Colonial Brit, with funny drawings. On the upper cover a row of rats with personalities.
