No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Illustrated Edition. This is an original broadside song sheet for the popular Civil War song "TRAMP! TRAMP! TRAMP! - The Prisoner's Hope." Circa 1860's - undated, though presumed 1864. Published by Chas. Magnus in New York. The sheet measures 8" tall x 5" wide. "TRAMP! TRAMP! TRAMP!" "was one of the most popular songs of the Civil War. George F. Root wrote both the words and music and published it in 1864 to give hope to the Union prisoners of war. The song is written from the prisoner's point of view. The chorus tells his fellow prisoners that hope is coming." Condition: Overall in Very Good condition with only a few light smudges and a very thin strip of yellowing along the bottom edge; no tears.
