Uncommon first edition in nice condition. Here the finest association copy: With dedication from Noyce to his wife Rosemary Campbell Davies on the front endpaper: "Rosie / with love from / Wilf. / 8.1.62". Noyce died during a mountaineering accident in the Pamirs a few months later, on 24. July 1962. Noyce was member of the 1953 Everest team, where he reached the South Col first and first climbed Machapuchare in Nepal in 1957. An exceptional association copy.
