Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Cowles, Fleur (illustrator). First American Edition. First collaborative effort by this magnificent author/artist team, this is the enchanting tale of Tiger Flower, King of the Grass."an adult fantasy, a children's story, & an allegory of peace" all in one, lavishly illustrated throughout. Orig. published in Britain in 1968, this is the FIRST AMERICAN EDITION from 1969 (albeit an 8th printing). Oversized hardcover book has bright yellow paper over boards with a one-eighth white cloth-wrapped spine, lettered in red. Though an EX-LIB copy, it is in VG- condition: generally very clean, with an occasional spot or smudge. Binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages white with mild tanning to edges. Usual library stamps & markings in front matter. The unclipped DJ is Near Fine (having been protected under mylar, which has a tear on rear), with virtually NO edgewear, colors bright. Only flaw is old paper call number to lower spine. Our photos show the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have on hand. Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. SORRY: book is too large for expedited domestic or international shipping without pre-approval of substantial (at least double) postage increase per USPS rates.
