One of a limited edition of 750 copies of a prospectus promoting the title book. A single folded sheet 5½" x 3¾", with a tipped-in illustration of Bewick's engraving entitled 'Waiting for Death' on the second of the four pages. A prospectus in Fine condition, now in a clear, archival-quality, protective display pocket.

FIRST EDITION, one of 100 standard copies, pp.(36); 2 portraits & 2 folding facsimiles in colour; silhouette portrait printed from the original block; fine in cloth-backed marbled boards. Bookplate of the author laid in. Diary Illustration Private Press.

An unpublished autobiographical note record of engraver, Thomas Bewick, made in the last months of his life, accompanied by commentary by Bewick scholar, Iain Bain. One of 200 copies of the standard edition, including colour tipped in portrait of Bewick at frontis, along 5 other tipped-in items, including facsimile notes made by Bewick and a Bewick engraving, 'Waiting for Death', for his 'Fables of Aesop' (1818). Hardback book, size: 6" x 6.25", bound in quarter cloth and boards covered in marbled paper made by Antonio Velez Celemin. New. Recommended - a lovely book, now out of print.

One of an edition limited to 200 copies printed in Bulmer type on Magnani Avorio Biblos paper with marbled boards by Antoniuo Velez Celemin. Including Bewick's portrait of Robert Pollard printed from the wood. Quarter cloth with light brown endpapers, printed paper label to spine. 6¼" x 6¼", pp. [36] with six illustrations tipped-in. A book in Fine condition, now with a clear, archival quality, protective dust-jacket fitted to the book. In addition, there were 100 special copies including an original print of Waiting for Death, made by Iain Bain, signed by him and housed in a chemise.
