Condition: Acceptable. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. A readable copy. All pages and the cover are intact (dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but notes cannot obscure the text. An acceptable condition book due to heavy dust darkening to the covers and spine. Light rubbing to corners. The contents show some tanning and dust largely relegated to the page edges but are in good condition overall, with unfaded print and a reliable binding. A reading and reference copy with potential for tidying up.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the captivating journey of a ring discovered in 1892, its inscription 'Willingly thine own' igniting a quest to unravel its history. The author meticulously traces the ring's potential origins to the tumultuous period of the early 16th century, specifically the turbulent relationship between the Venetian Republic and the Frangipani family, a powerful Croatian dynasty. Set against the backdrop of the Italian Wars and the League of Cambray, the narrative unveils the intricate political landscape of the time. The author navigates through historical chronicles, diaries, and letters, piecing together the lives and actions of key figures like Count Christoph Frangipani and the Venetian chronicler Marino Sanuto. The reader is transported to a world of shifting alliances, territorial disputes, and acts of both bravery and treachery. Central to the book's exploration is the examination of the Frangipani family's complex history, their rise to power, and their contentious interactions with the Venetian Republic. The author delves into their motivations, ambitions, and the events that led to their eventual displacement. Themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the enduring consequences of historical events are interwoven throughout the narrative. Ultimately, the book offers a profound reflection on the power of objects to connect us to the past, illuminating the lives of those who came before us and the historical forces that shaped their destinies. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Condition: Gut. Künstler-Monographien; XXX. 112 S.; Illustr.; 25 cm. Gutes Ex. - In Frakturschrift. Brossura. Condition: new. Traduzione di Baghini P. S.Roma, 2014; br., pp. 272, cm 15x21.(La Storia. Temi. 35). Libro.
