Condition Report Externally Spine good condition nicely decorated in gilt with gilt titles and compartments, some rubbing and fading. Joints good condition some rubbing. Corners good condition bumped and worn. Boards good condition some marks to the leather, marbled paper covered boards, marked and worn, top edges of boards worn. Page edges good condition all page edges marbled, darkened to the tops. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition all sound. Paste downs good condition marbled. End papers good condition marbled, subsequently tanned and foxed. Title good condition some foxing and offsetting portraits or illustrations. Pages good condition tanned with some minor foxing, mainly to the frontispiece and engraved title (on thicker paper), some creased pages to Vol 18. Binding good condition sound, attractive.

Half Vellum. Condition: Near Very Good. Books measure 17x11.cm. Bound in original publishers half vellum. vellum corners, marble boards, flat gilt bands, ornate gilt tooling, full marble edges and endpapers. Vellum lightly rubbed, some minor abrasion wear, dust marked, lacking one volume label. Generally all bindings in good firm condition. Internally, private library stamp on blank free endpaper. Pages in good clean condition. A very attractive solid set. Size: Small 8 Vo.
