In very good plus bright orange cloth boards with black image of tree with tree house to front with a boy and girl and black titles. The boards are very tight, flat and clean; spine and edges firm. Green and white pictorial end papers with children in bed and lady with dog; the 'this book belongs to' has been filled in. Lightly marked cut edges. The text block is straight, clean and firm, very good condition. With 8 colour plates and 12 b/w plates and some b/w sketches by Alice B. Woodward. No dedications. Inside illustrated dust jacket with central coloour image of boy in red surrounded by blue and white characters and creatures. The dust jacket is grubby on the rear side; slightly edge-worn. Price clipped.

Clean interior, inscription to half-title page, some faint/light foxing specks to prelims and occasionally throughout, toned to rear e/papers, contains a colour f/p, 7 further stunning colour plates and several black and white, please note the b&w plate facing p.24 is loose, dulled to top page block, boards have picture to front, showing average shelfwear, watermark to front side edge as shown, faint pencil mark, bumps to lower corners but decent appearance overall for the age, all tight and intact.
