Sunned patches to cloth; light bumping to spine ends; prize plate dated 1939 to front endpaper; foxing to endpapers and page block edges. Price clipped dustwrapper is sunned to spine with a number of nicks and chips to rubbed and creased edges.

Condition: Fair. No Edition Remarks. 324 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with colour illustration stuck to front board. Contains colour illustrated frontispiece. Pages are lightly foxed, but text remains clear. Binding is firm. Previous owner's inscriptions to front free endpaper. Boards and spine have minimal shelf-wear, with mild corner bumping and crushing to ends. Noticeable scuffing and bleach spotting overall, with visible marks also. Book has a minor backwards lean.

Cloth. Condition: Good. A novelistic telling of the life of Jesus. Nd, but erased pencil inscription is dated 1909. Bound in plum cloth, with black decorative borders and gilt lettering to the front cover, same to the spine, and black decoration to the back. Spine has chipped at bottom and eroded at top edge, exposing gatherings. Spine sunned. Book block is unmarked and unworn.

Pale green daisy pattered endpapers. Light tanning to page edges, otherwise VG+, clean, bright, tight and square. A very acceptable copy.

Green cloth with elaborate floral decoration on front board and spine, in a lighter green and white edged with silver, lettering gilt. Slight overall wear: bumped corners. slightly rubbed spine extremities, tiny fray top of spine, faint marks to back board. Endpapers have same floral design in cream on sage green. Bookplate - Young Women's Christian Association Scotland, is inscribed 1908. Internally, slightly foxed prelims & edges, a few pages with a crinkle to half of fore-edge, contents clean and bright, print a decent size. This edition of this 1855 work has no date stated, c.1900. Internally very good; prize plate to paste down; illustrated with full page b/w plates and decorations to chapter headings and as tail pieces; binding tight; no foxing; xvi + 266 pp + 6 pp adverts. A book in the 'Garland Library' series.

Condition: Good. Some mild stains and marks to the cover. Aged and used copy. Fine to read throughout, a sound enough copy.

There is a previous owner's name sticker - dated 1884 - after the front end page. This is a fair indication around when the book was published. The spine is partly cracked within. The back end page has been removed. The pages are tanned, but the text is still crisp and legible. Occasional age related marks can be noticed in the text. The blocks are gilded.
