Hardback. Condition: Good/Acceptabe. No Jacket. Illustrations Inspired bvy the Music of Ichaikovsky (illustrator). The Nutcracker Suite from Walt Disney's Fantasia, story and illustrations inspired by the music of Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky, special arrangements freely transcribed for piano by Frederick Stark. All this beautiful music has appealed vividly to the imagination and humor of Walt Disney. He has made an interpretation wholly his own, in which flowers and leaves and snowflakes dance in the wind and float on the surface of the water, and in which we pass through the cycle of spring, summer, autumn and winter in harmony with Nature. It is a masterpiece of fantasy, the peer of the great and delightful music of Tchaikovsky. Frederick Stark has taken the main melodic themes of the six movements of the Suite heard in Walt Disney's Fantasia; he has condensed and simplified them so as to create six complete piano compositions which retain to a remarkable degree the spirit and tonal colour of the full orchestrations. Tiny bug musicians perch on the music staves to illustrate which instruments dominate the different themes in the orchestral score. Beautifully illustrated characters. Book internally in good condition. No Dust Jacket decorative boards (as image shown on ABE), slightly grubby and marked, edges rubbed, otherwise internally in good condition Published by Collins Book#102508.
