Second printing (1 of 5000 copies printed), of what is considered to be one of the best classic texts on cinematography, and one of the three most important books on cinematic technique ever published still in print after 50 years. Mascelli (1917-1981) launched his career with newsreels, stunt aerial films during World War II, and was the director and cinematographer for the US Air Force's "Operation Crossroads" filming from a specially outfitted B-17 the first Bikini Atoll A-Bomb tests. He later was the cinematographer for John Craig's Danger is My Business Television Series, also cinematographer for a number of B horror and thriller movies.
