The edges of the slipcase are rubbed and there are splits along the top edges of the case. Pages [i]-xvii, [iii] & [1]-605; and [i]-viii, [3] & 609-1136, illustrated with full-page plates. The bottom corners of the last few pages of the first volume are creased. The top edges of the books are rubbed. Very good in a good slipcase. First edition.
