Condition: good. The Rand-Mc Nally New Commercial Atlas Map of Texas. (American West- border with Mexico). Issued c.1913, Chicago by Rand Mc Nally for their monumental Business Atlas. Excellent pair of oversized early 20th century color printed maps. Not to be confused with their much more common small quarto size maps of this era. Excellent level of detail not possible on smaller maps. Overprinted in red to show the dozens of regional Railroad lines then in operation around the state. Paper and images remain clean and well preserved with a fine patina and visual appeal. Original fold lines as issued. Sheets measure c. 28 1/8"H x 20 1/2"W. Printed areas measure c. 26"H x 19"W. Tooley's Dictionary of Mapmakers, vol. 4. Ristow, American Maps and Mapmakers, pp. 467-79. Woodward, the All-American Map- Wax Engraving in Cartography, pp. 28, 30, et. al. [R18306] Guaranteed authentic - old. We do not sell modern reprints.
