A nice bright copy of a book which originally formed chapter eight of Thomas' 1910 book 'Feminine Influence on the Poets' and consists of a series of brief studies of the love poems of English poets from Chaucer to Shelley, here slightly revised. The work was first published with this title in 1911 with a second issue (probably) in 1916. The third issue (1917) appeared without the portrait frontispiece; the second state of this issue (as here) also omitted the eight-page memoir of Thomas by John Freeman.
