The first UK illustrated edition, first published in the US in 1924. A charming photoplay edition. Illustrated with eight scenes from the Paramount Film of the same name, released in 1923. Scarce, particularly in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Undated, dated from copies held at the National Library of Scotland. The Ten Commandments is a religious epic, drawing parallels with the original Exodus story and two brothers and their twentieth century view on the Biblical story. In the original cloth binding in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally smart with minor damp staining to the lower front board. Contemporary ink inscription to front pastedown and bookseller's label to rear pastedown. Offsetting to front free endpaper. Dust wrapper is sound with chipping, and closed tear to the extremities.
