Tea Phytologist Four Issues December (1 results)

The Tea Phytologist, a brilliant and hilarious spoof publication produced by the Botany School, Cambridge University (Department of Plant Sciences) which parodied Arthur Tansley's New Phytologist. This small but significant collection includes four issues - December 1950 (complete with loosely inserted slip "Instructions to Reader" and tipped-in Errata); March 1954 (complete with loosely inserted advert for The Tea Phytologist printed in green ink on thick paper, of slightly different format to the publication itself) ; Spring 1964, and Lent Term 1971. These four issues with excellent provenance: - from the library of the late, eminent botanist Michael Proctor (author of over 100 papers and three New Naturalist titles) who studied at the Botany School during the early 1950's (and may have contributed to the 1950s' editions), each issue is either initialled or signed by Proctor to the top right corner of the front covers. The Tea Phytologist appeared sporadically, the first issue published in 1912 (but seemingly the magazine was founded in 1908?) and the last in 1984, other issues are 1934, 1939, 1950, 1954, 1964, 1971 and 1977. So a total of nine/ten issues. Generally in very good condition, covers lightly marked.
