Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Minor foxing on the occasional page, especially the first 5 pages, otherwise pages are mostly clean and unmarked. Minor wear along the edges of the spine. Previous owners name inscribed on end paper. A tight copy.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Warren, Henry (illustrator). Green leather hardcover with gilt decorations shows heavy wear at edges and side of spine. Cardboard shows through at corners and spine ends with loss of leather at spine ends. Fron side of spine has split at top and bottom edges. Endpapers and tissue guards are foxed with slight tanning foxing throughout. Top of page 133 has a 1/2" x 2 1/2' rectangle removed, this does not effect the text. Inked names are found on endpapers with occasional inked names throughout in upper margins.

It shows general rubbing including to the hinges, cover, and corners, and the top of the front panel is slightly coming away. The book pages have significant ageing. A previous owner has inscribed to the inside front cover: 'Ann Dobson 1856'. (See pictures). A book for the poet connoisseur.

Full-Leather. Condition: G-vg. Imperial octavo; frontispiece, engraved title. 46 fine steel engravings. Fine contemporary binding of full black morocco, slmewhat rubbed but very attractive with elaborate gilt decoration to boards, the spine with raised bands and gilt compartments, all edges gilt. Two or three leaves are sl edge frayed.

Small 8vo, in full leather with gilt decorated spines, red leather author and green leather title labels on spine. Beautiful contemporary penmanship signature of former owner dated 1856. Very light water stain at top corner, affecting only very top edge of endpapers and a few title pages. Text is unaffected. This is not a complete set of his works. Sumptuously bound in a full red morocco, with 5 raised bands along each spine, fine-tooled gilt-design at the compartments and bright gilt-rule and lettering to the panels. Clean, tight and easily VG+ to Near Fine. Octavos, top-edges gilt, lovely marbled endpapers. 46 steel engravings by Edward Finden (from designs by Henry Warren) beautifully complement the text.
