Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Very Good. Arnold Lobel; Ann Schweninger (illustrator). 1st Edition. Two separate books signed and inscribed by the author. Once listed, they will be the Only signed copies for sale on the Internet. The Tales of Oliver (1979) is a stated first printing, first edition. Tales of Amanda (1983) is a fourth printing. The inscription from Oliver Pig is off the top edge of the half-title page. It reads 'For Kevin, Best wishes! From Oliver Pig--Jean Van Leeuwen.' On the Amanda Pig book the signed inscription is off the top edge of the title page. It reads 'To Lauren-- who is a very special little girl--Jean Van Leeuwen.' As for condition: the front cover of Tales Of Oliver Pig has a tan stain around the word Pig, which seems appropriate. On the blank front inside cover you can see the same stain in the same place. There is also a tiny scuff on the spine, and I just noticed there are these little red lines on the front cover just adjacent to the spine, probably pen marks. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The pages appear to be perfectly clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any soiling. I'm also not finding any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere inside the book. Tales Of Amanda Pig has some color fading along the side of the front cover just adjacent to the spine and also above the bottom edge of the front cover. This book is also very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The signed title page and front inside cover both have some amber foxing. It is limited to these two pages. The rest of the pages look very clean. There is also a tiny crease above the bottom corner of the front cover and title page. I don't see any other creasing on any of the of the other pages. Nor are there any markings or attachments. And the signed inscription is the only writing to be found anywhere in the book. Inscribed by Author(s).
