Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Light tanning to spine and edges. The unclipped dust jacket has heavy edge wear, with tears, chips and areas of loss. Heavy tanning to spine and edges.

Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Stamp to front free endpaper. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Creasing to rear board. Unclipped jacket has moderate edgewear with chips, tears, and creasing. Light tanning to spine and edges. Water staining to rear panel.

      Hardcover. Condition: Very Good Minus. Good Plus. First Edition. 109pp. 1934. First edition. 8vo. sized. A very good minus copy in original publisher's good plus dust jacket. Scarce with jacket. Illustrated by A. W. Seaby. Original publisher's orange cloth - stamped with black titles to the spine and to the front board. No inscriptions. Some moisture damp to the cloth of the rear board - not heavy, but most definately present. There is also a stain with tidemark about 4cm x 4cm between the inner hinges of the rear board. The jacket too has a notable dark stain (unlike the book - boards or inner hinge) to the upper corner of the rear panel about 5.5cm x 5cm. The dust jacket has not been price-clipped; it has a stain mark to the front panel to the front panel measuring 7mm x 4mm. There is also dust soiling and marking to the front and rear panels of the jacket. There is also light chipping to the head of the spine of the jacket. A very good minus copy with good plus jacket of this the first edition.
