Does not have the rarely-found list of subscribers. Full leather has some stains, spine worn with some losses. Early owners' signatures on title and a…few other pages. Lloyd employed his shorthand method in compiling the speeches during the First Continental Congress, the first session of the Federal Congress, George Washington's inaugural, the Congressional Register and more. He later ended up in debtor's prison in England, and on his return to the U.S. worked with Mathew Carey to issue this book detailing his shorthand system. According to his opening sentence, "The whole of the Short-hand System, now offered to the public, is comprised in the two annexed plates, which contain every thing that needs be learned in order to reduce it to practice."
