Near uniform contemporary and somewhat later black blind half cloth over black marbled boards. = A seldom seen, taxonomically important work on millipedes (Diplopoda), with detailed illustrations by the author, extensive descriptions and a large bibliography. Published in the Academy's Denkschriften. This is a rare hardbound set. The first volume is slightly larger and the page numbering is only quasi-consecutive, with a 12 pages overlap. Plate numbering, however, is consecutive. Former owner's stamp of the German entomologist Friedrich Ludwig Stellwaag (1886-1976) above both drophead titles, otherwise very good, clean.
