There is a bit of light brown to the inside front and rear cover gutter area which is the result of the glue that was used in the binding and over time it reacts with the paper otherwise internally all is clean , complete, and tight. pictorial unclipped dust jacket with some edge chips and small tears to the top and bottom edges and a couple of old tape marks, also inserted (not attached) into the book is a dedication page (cut down and in a plastic sleeve) taken from another book signed by the author and it states: ("for Bill Scheingold whose capacities I can never seem to get straight Edwin A. Peeples). Inside DJ Flap states: "This is a story of a black man's fight for decency. Willy Mack, the country Negro, earned the respect of white and black alike.etc. etc.Willy Mack's story is the protest and reaction of any man in conflict with prejudice and knavery in high places." Not the best DJ buck book is in great condition ALONG WITH SIGNED INSCRIPTION BY THE AUTHOR. "Love story of Billiard Alley" rear of DJ. The publisher states that the FIRST EDITION consists of the publishing date appearing on the title page and copyright page. In later editions/printings this date is dropped from the title page. THIS IS A FIRST EDITION. By Author and Designer.
