Light age tanning of the edges and endpapers. Foxing on the edges and prelims and with occasional light spotting in the text. No other marks. This copy has been SIGNED (…not inscribed) by the author on the title page. Complete with the original, unclipped d/w in near fine condition with only very light edge rubbing and a faint hint of sun fading of the spine. Now in a protective cover. Scans available if required.

All that swagger is based on the experience of Franklin's own forebears who emigrated from Ireland and settled in the Monaro district of New South Wales in the mid-nineteenth century. The novel was awarded the S. H. Prior Memorial Prize in 1936.
