Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First Edition. Original blue boards. This book is a compilation of articles about the Adirondack Forty-Sixers, those who climbed all forty-six peaks in the Adirondacks. The book was owned by Joseph C. Gardner, wno became the 3222nd person to climb all 46 peaks. Gardner seems to have had t…he goal of getting as many Adirondack Forty-Sixers to sign his book as possible. The book contains 9 pages filled with signatures of Adirondack Forty-Sixers and their numbers. Among those signing the book were the two to whom the book was dedicated, Grace Leach Hudowalski (9)--the first woman to hike all 46 of the Adirondack peaks-- and Adolph G. Dittmar (31). The book is also signed by the editor, Tim Tefft (616). Other early Forty-Sixers signeing the book were James A. Goodwin (24), Mary C. Ditmar (29), Werner O Bachli (33), and Helen C. Menz (42). The book contains the Forty-Sixer Rosterand the 1995 Supplement laid in, in which Garner has kept track with yellow magic marker of all those who signed his book. Gardner has a small bookplate on the front free endpaper and a large slip with his name printed on it pasted on the back cover. Cracked after the second leaf, Good. A unique Adirondacks item. Signed by Author(s).
